2 weekends ago I was in Charlotte for one night while visiting a friend a did about 6 drawings total i was not too happy about all of them except these two. The sketch of the Mc Donalds sign was in the suburbs of Charlotte as we were driving out of town. Charlotte is a really great city and i can not wait to come back i saw about one percent of Charlotte on my visit so i have plenty to look forward to on my next visit.
I think i did this drawing of the Greenbridge construction site about a month ago now but i have been so busy with school and work at night that i have not found the time to upload my sketches. I always say on my blog that i will be uploading more drawings in the next couple of days but it then turns out to be more like a month until my next post. I did this form rosemary street close to where the Greenbridge offices are.

I went sketching in Durham today, I spent a hour at the Nasher looking at exhibit of Andy Warhol Polaroids i have to say I was not too impressed i know they were reference point for some of his work and they are not actually his real artwork. But still it was a bunch of unidentified people in the photos or his "room mate" in the photos. After wards we drove into Durham and we parked in the lot of the new train station which i have to say is really nice. I managed to sketch two more buildings but the scanner does not seem to be working . This sketch is of the Hill building designed by Shreve, Lamb and Harmon the same firm that designed the Empire state building in New York.
last Monday since it was a hoilday i went out with my dad to the Greenbridge condos site to sketch the construction site . I used a Japanese style moleskin which folds in and out like an accordion. I was able to do three sketches i will post the other two sometime this coming week.

I though i should start posting some of the sketches I did in Philadelphia over winter break. Overall i did 30 sketches in one week while i was up there . I am really bad about scanning drawings from my small moleskine sketchbook. Here are two of my favorite sketches from my vacation. The top one is from a pizzeria in Chestnut hill looking at a church and the other I sat outside on Christmas morning and drew the Gravers Lane station. Gravers lane has to be one of my favorite train stations it was designed by Frank Furness one of my favorite victorian era achictects.

Last weekend i was able to get out to carrboro so I could draw the Greenbridge Condos. They are really coming along, the glass and the brick skin are almost complete . The inside is coming along on Monday I saw then bringing up air shafts to install. The scanner really whited out the side of the building . I can't wait to see what the stores at ground level will be , I am curious though who the tenants of the retail space will be.

The condos are really coming along they are starting to install windows and some of the outside brick skin is complete. I plan on drawing the condos sometime this coming week .
